Holy Defense Museum-Garden was established in 1390 SH in Shahr-e Kord city, Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari province. This complex has more than 20000 square meters urban green space and 16000 square meters operating green space and it is, in fact, consisted of three sections of museum, cultural center and monument.
The ancient Persian art has been used in designing the entrance of the building and the local elements of the province like black tents have inspired the design of the complex. Different operations during the imposed war of Iran-Iraq have been depicted in the museum. The current Iraq country was established after the World War I in the result of decomposition of the great Ottoman Empire and intervention of western countries. The border disputes with Iran started from the period of Ottoman Empire and continued after the establishment of Iraq until 1354 SH when two countries signed a treaty on Arvand Rud, mediated by Algiers government, in order to settle these conflicts.
After the Islamic revolution Saddam Hussein, then king of Iraq, was encouraged to military confrontation with Iran. therefore, Saddam ordered the invasion of Iran in the spring of 1979, after which the Iraqi Ba'athist army invaded the land and the Iranian people, and the imposed war began. Totally 19 operations were carried out by Iranian fighters the most important of which were Fath ol-Mobin and Beit ol-Moqaddas. Iraq fighters had occupied hundreds of kilometers of lands of Iran in that period of time. Iranians succeeded to liberate the city of Khorramshahr on June 3rd, 1981, during the Operation of Beit ol-Moqaddas.
In Hoy Defense Museum of Shahr-e Kord there are two operations of Karbala-5 and Valfajr-10 represented in the exhibition hall. The place of operation Karbala-5 was Shalamcheh and Valfajr-10 between Halabcheh and Soleymanieh each codified by a specific code that was used at the beginning of the operation. The code of Karbala-5 was Fateme al-Zahra and Valfajr-10 Allah-Allah-Allah. Interesting among the other parts of the museum are Holy Defense treasure, military equipment in mountain wars, monitoring fortress, Arvand bridge, martyrs’ photos and many more.
