Bushehr has a very clean and beautiful coast that is the hangout of locals and foreigner tourists in both days and nights. Apart from the pleasant coast of Persian Gulf in Bushehr, this city has many other attractions: the old texture and the historical house of the city are one of the most attractive parts of the city leading you to the depth of the history and culture; Houses in different styles of architecture that are really different from the modern apartments. The old texture of Bushehr city is one of the best samples of this kind of remained architectures from the past in which you can find many spectacular houses and mansions some of which has been reconstructed and some converted into the museum.
Dehdashti Edifice of Bushehr is one of the most beautiful and noble old houses of Bushehr. This mansion was the house of a merchant named Haj Gholam Hossein Dehdashti who lived in Qajar period. He was the oil trader and that is why his house is also famous as Oil Edifice.
You have to get yourself the Television Park in the coastal street of Bushehr. Pass through the Enghelab street in front of the park to reach the sign of the traditional restaurant of Tareh. After 80 meters you are in front of the Oil Edifice. Dehdashti Edifice is placed in the old texture of the city and it is about 1300meters distance from there to the Persian Gulf Park in the coastal boulevard of Persian Gulf.
Haj Gholam Hossein Dehdashti erected a four-story building in a city that most of its houses were one-floor and a few buildings had two or three floors. A small stone bench was designed for sitting and waiting close to the main door of the building. Passing through this door you will notice that the building in not exposed; a characteristic that hides the internal house from the eyes of the guests. After the opposite wall, you will find an eye-catching four-story building.
The building was made of plaster, lime, teak wood, coral stones and its ceiling of sandalwood. There is a foursquare pool in the yard with high walls. The cistern is placed underneath the pool that was the drinking water storage.
There is a dint in the left corner of the pool in which a clay jar was put for cooling water. The existent of thick trees make the yard more attractive. The appearance of the wooden windows and doors with colorful glasses is extremely spectacular.
One of the most attractive rooms of Dahdashti is the alcove room. The ceiling of alcove was artistically decorated with mirror works.
The ceiling of guest room was decorated in oil paintings in European style and the stucco works of the walls are spectacular.
It is normal that many trade documents are found in the house of a successful trader; documents and letters with old stamps of Qajar and correspondences with other countries such as India, England and Germany.
Now these documents are kept in the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization. The organization restored the house in 1377 SH.
