Shivand waterfall is located in the Shivand village, North Donbal-e Rood village, Dehdez district, Izeh city, Khuzestan province. Shivand village is located next to the lake formed by the Karun III dam and the Karun II River, in the foothills of the Zagros mountain-range, in oak forests.

Along with two villages of Noshivand and Posht Asiyab, the village of Shivand form a kind of triangle through which the river passes. These villages are located in the land of Mongasht and Shalou where the Karun River passes through the east. 

Shivand waterfall falls from a height of 80 meters, flowing four km on Mongasht mountain to join Shivand lake. In this way, the waterfall irrigates the gardens and paddy fields of the village. Zaras tourist village is placed in front of this highest waterfall in Khuzestan province. Common access to the village is provided by barge, ship and go-fast boat, although there is also a bumpy and dirt road. The access to the waterfall takes, more or less, one hour walking and it is three km far from the village. 

Among the animal species of Shivand, we can mention leopard, boar, brown bear, wolf, jackal, fox, rabbit, ram, sheep, mountain goat, Iranian squirrel, partridge, see-see partridge, Nuthatch, Shrike and Woodpeckers. Also, among the 230 plant species of this land, we can mention Iranian oak, red ben, oregano, Tragacanth, Pistacia atlantica, figs and Montpellier maple, pomegranates, grapes, and walnuts.

 The Abbasid caravanserai related to the Safavid era is also located in Shivand village. In addition, there are signs of an ancient fortress, backing probably to four thousand years BC. Also, there are stone inscriptions and reliefs along with the Bardgori crypt, which dates back to nearly 1700 years ago, at the same time as the Sassanid era. Also, two water mills and an old dungeon with a depth of 25 meters have been left in the village of Shivand. 

Handicrafts of Shivand village include jajim, felt, neck scarf, khurjin, rug and hand-woven carpet. Foods such as mountain honey, cheese, local butter, sugary and local bread, lavashak, pomegranate paste and Nardon (pomegranate seeds) Torshi are available in this village.
