Konarak, a port town, is located the extreme southeast of Iran in the western shore of Chabahar gulf and at the beach of Oman Sea.
The climatic conditions of this city are warm and humid so that it is moderate in summer due to monsoon blow and is the warmest part of Iran in winter. Konarak consists of two parts named “Markazi“and “Zarabad”, one city as “Konarak” and 4 rural districts. Konarak has a specific geographical location, some facilities and the potential capabilities.
Fisheries and related industries, agriculture and tropical products cultivation, industrial complexes, tourism and ecotourism industry, seaport, airport, custom and the commercial location shared specially with Pakistan and Persian Gulf area and Konarak gas power plant constitute the economy of this city.
Natural and historical attractions of region beside the handicrafts such as Tutan Sazi, Launch making (a kind of boat), Suzan Dozi and etc., beach park and beach plage of port have brought a specific importance for this area. The residents of Konark are Baluch from Aryan race.The common language of people here is Baluch with Makrani dialect. Most of people are the followers of Sunnie religion in this city.
