Ecotourism house and Puppet and Toy Museum of Kashan used to be the historical house of Jafar Allameh Feizi, a late Qajar poet and clerk. The history of house backs to over 150 years ago. The building of Puppet and Toy Museum of Kashan has been registered in the list of Iran National Heritages with the name of Sohrabi Historical House. The toys and dolls of the museum have been collected by the museum manager, Amir Sohrabi, as a result of many years of travel and research in cities and villages of Iran. He started his journey from 2007 by travelling to different provinces of Iran and gathering the collection of dolls until 2011. As a result, he published a book: Puppets in Isfahan and Naeen. The life story of the toyds are narrated by the museum guides for visitors. An accommodation part was added to the complex in 2017 after the building was reconstructed and it continue to work under the title of the Ecotourism House and Puppet and Toy Museum of Kashan.
Puppet and Toy Museum of Kashan has gathered examples of the oldest puppets, toys and dolls related to Qajar period. The oldest puppets in Iran with a history of over 150 years, local dolls of Iran, and some examples of other nations’ toys and dolls belonged to around 100 years ago are on display in this museum. the Ecotourism House includes seven rooms arranges around the yard of the complex. Sohrabi used to be the theatre student interested in folkloric issues, Iranian dramas and games. He was also one of the authors in the project of publishing the encyclopedia of games and entertainments in Iran who traveled to several provinces for doing concerning research. It was at the same time when the initial spark of collecting a group of the oldest dolls of Iran and holding a related exhibition was lighted in his mind.
Each hall in the museum is named after one of the local dolls of Iran: Dohtoluk Hall which is the traditional doll of Khorasan region; Choli Qezek which is the doll of seeking rain in the north of Iran; Bok Baraneh or Bookeh Baraneh is a Kurdish name which means the bride of the rain referring to the ritual of seeking rain in Kurdistan; Bigoo Raqsoo and Hall of Nations are the host of tourists in the complex. The store of toys and handmade dolls, the workshop of making puppets and Sharbat Khaneh are other parts of the complex.
