The construction of Khoy Bazar dates back to the Safavid period, based on an inscription belonging to Shah Tahmasp. However, the original building might be older than this date which was reconstructed and developed during Afshar, Zand and Qajar periods. The main parts of this building were built by the order of Abbas Mirza Qajar. Khoy bazar splits into a main corridor and several halls, chambers, Chahar Sou, as well as other buildings like mosque, bath house etc., each specializing in different types of goods; They are coppersmiths, goldsmiths, carpet sellers, confectioners, retail stores. The Khoy bazar was inscribed on the list of Iran National Monuments (No. 1728).
