Talesh Sleigh

Talesh Sleigh is one of the most beautiful sleighs in Iran. The sleigh is placed is Siahdaran Park in Talesh, located in Gilan province. Talesh is the largest city in Gilan province and due to its spectacular natural and historical attractions, it is today one of main remarkable tourism regions in the north of Iran. It is also considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in all around the world because of its dense forest texture and unique flora. Placed in the heart of Siahdaran Mountain in a park with the same name, Talesh Sleigh has been erected in the middle of a mass of green trees. The region is placed southwest of Talesh city, next to Siahdaran village, and it is nearly four kilometers away from the city. If you pass the route by car, it takes only twelve minutes. The forest park is placed along the road of Rasht-Astara and if you start from Talesh city, you will be directly guided by a bunch of signboards provided on the way. The reason why the forest and region are called Siahdaran is that it used to include a lot of black trees which are species of Jujube.

The popularity of the region rose in 2012 after the establishment of Talesh Sleigh. The length of this sleigh is about a kilometer and fifty meters including two direct and winding routes. Sleighs are categorized into single and double types and you need to buy a ticket in advance. The sleigh has been constructed based on the modern standards and it has high security so that you can use them easily in rainy and snowy days. The complex is open to public visit from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. during springs and summers and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in clod seasons. 

In addition to sleigh riding, you can also visit the protected species of animals like red Caspian red deer, gazelles and goose. The flora of the region is also unique with the potential of attracting the plant lovers’ attention; they include oak, European hornbeam, beech and many other species. Due to the park’s location on the heights of the region, it is also called the Roof of Talesh (Baam-e Talesh) and you can overlook the dense forest and green plains from the top of the mountain. The most important among facilities of the park are parking, restaurant and gazabo. The best time for traveling to this place is spring and autumn however, it has also pristine and spectacular landscapes in winters. There are so many ecotourism houses and guest houses provided in cities and villages around Talesh making your trip easier. Other tourism regions nearby are the countryside area of Kūh-e Do Khāleh, Subatan Cave, Saragah Lake, Kargan Rud River, Forest Park of Gisoom, Subatan, Varzan Waterfall and Hyrcanian National Park.
