One of the historical attractions of Alborz province is the Karaj Sulaimaniyah Palace, a collection that is reminiscent of the Qajar period. It has been registered in the list of national monuments of Iran with the number 370. Karaj Sulaimaniyah Palace was built in 1227. There are various narrations about the construction of this building, which are fantastic and audible. Some historical documents and writings indicate that Fath Ali Shah Qajar, on the occasion of the 34th birthday of his son, Suleyman Mirza, established this palace as his summer residence and put its name on it. Others believe because Mohammad Ali Mirza Dolatshah, the eldest son of Fath Ali Shah, was dissatisfied with his father's decision to crown his brother Abbas Mirza. He decided to show himself, Suleiman Pasha summoned the governor of Baghdad and defeated him. He presented the great booty he gained from this war to his father, and Fath Ali Shah built the Karaj Sulaimaniyah Palace with this money to commemorate his son's victory.

This palace is a brick building that has no specific decorations. In this building, Qajar architectural style has been used. And it can be said that the only innovative element is the building on a pilot. Sulaimaniyah Palace has a symmetrical shape and is raised 5 to 1 with a gabled roof. Among the attractive features of this Qajar building, we can mention the halls, sash, mirrors, semicircular arches, map, and its two floors. Adjacent to the palace is a four-story tower that has survived from the Safavid era. The building is built in a large garden in which there is a small and beautiful residential complex. Next to the main palace, several small palaces and buildings were prepared for the servants of the king and the courtiers. It is said that the architect of this building was a person named Mohammad Hossein Khan, the Prime Minister of Isfahan, who had started its construction in 1225. In Fath Ali Shah Public Bar Hall, there are two pictures. The first is Agham Mohammad Khan, and the second is Fath Ali Shah and his servants. The creator of these images was a person named Abdullah Khan Naghashbashi. Karaj Sulaimaniyah Palace is located in the central part of the old city of Karaj, between Shahid Chamran Boulevard and Imamzadeh Hassan, and its current use is the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tehran.
