Mosque of Mighan

The study on architecture of mosque of Mighan reflects the effects of rural climate on the structure of this building, for example the limited area of mosque designed according to population of village during that period. 

Generally, Mosque of Mighan is constructed on a limited and small area. Its architectural components include courtyard, domed shabestan (bedchamber), columned shabestan and dome chamber; however, mosque is considered as a significant work in an outlying village. A Qanat (subterranean water canal) flows in courtyard passing beneath the building toward the other side. Water of qanat is collected in a pool behind Mosque of Mighan to be used for agricultural purposes. 

There is a gate on courtyard of mosque being connected to domed shabestan and includes a rectangular area with domed ceiling. There are three domes on the ceiling and very beautiful custom-designs are observable beneath domes. Columned shabestan is one of the most beautiful parts of the mosque with its special splendor architecture. Columned shabestan is an area in which square columns have constructed as ceiling pillars.
