Ramhormoz in the east of Khuzestan province is located at the height of 160 meters above the sea level in the catchment of Marun-Jarahi River. This city has warm weather.
Ramhormoz consists of 4 districts naming “Markazi”,”Roudzard’, “Abulfars”,”Soltanaba”, one city as “Ramhormoz” and 8 rural districts. Ramhormoz is the second historical cities of Khuzestan province after Susa, dating back to 5000 years ago.
The economy of Ramhormoz has been established on agriculture, livestock, gardening and laboring. Plaster mines, bitumen factories, brick and lime burning and producing the plaster constitute the other part of the economy in this region. Beautiful lush woodlands with different trees around Marun River, dams, ancient teppeh and buildings, Deyme protected zone (deer habitat), religious and historical places are the main tourism regions of Ramhormoz.
The main spoken language of Ramhormoz people is Rumezi or Ramhormozi similar to Bakhtiari dialect. Farsi, Turki, Arabi and dialects like Behbahani, Dezfuli, Suhshtari, Yeylaghi (Isfahani) are also common in Ramhormoz. The people of Ramhormoz are Muslim and they are followers of Shia.
