One of the most important historical buildings in Naeen County is the Baba Abdullah Mosque, located in the historical texture of Naeen and near the historical bazaar of Naeen. This historical building dates back to the late 13th and early 14th centuries AD, belonging to the Ilkhanid period, and has a 700-year-old history.

This structure consists of a massive dome with two tall iwans, an underground prayer hall, a winter prayer, and a tall awning at the entrance. It is situated in an alley that connects to the main bazaar street.

The historical building of Baba Abdullah Mosque initially served as a domed mausoleum from the Ilkhanid period, later expanding to include the mosque. This mosque is of the two-iwan type, where after passing through the main entrance, one enters the courtyard or yard indirectly by turning left or right.

Within this domed chamber, there are several graves belonging to prominent figures and mystics from the Ilkhanid era. These graves feature stucco decorations and Quranic verses. In the corners of the dome, architectural decorations in the form of muqarnas can be seen. Above the mihrab inside the dome, there are geometric and floral patterns combined with Quranic inscriptions.

What has continuously drawn the respect of the people of Naeen to this complex over the years is the reputation of Baba Abdullah for his noble qualities and his Sufi efforts to seek closeness to Allah. In the past, the title "Baba" was given to certain Sufis at a particular rank in Sufism. After the death of Baba Abdullah, his burial place and tomb remained a point of attention and respect, and a dome was built over it, which still stands today.

This mosque, as one of the most important historical monuments in the city of Naeen, was registered as No. 204 in the list of national monuments of Iran on 31/04/1934.

Address: Naeen County, near the Naeen Bazaar
