Namak-Khor Salt Lake is one of the most unique seasonal salt lakes in all around the world expanding from the central part of the central Kavir of Iran to its southern part. The salt soil of the region prevents any kind of plant from growing and any kind of animal from surviving here. However, the amazing shape of Kavir-e Tabaqeh made it an awesome tourism attraction. The earth of Kavir-e Tabaqeh is totally covered by pentagonal forms made of salt pieces turning black during winters as a result of its mixture with clay while it is quite white during summers. The salt of this lake is the oldest salt in the whole country. The lake is nearly placed at the height of 707 meters above sea level. Unlike other salt lakes, the depth of this one is little, from five to ten centimeters. The average yearly rainfall is about 30 mm. The highest amount of water is flowing through the seasonal floods into the lake. Therefore, passing floods through the surrounding salt desert increases the saltiness of the water. Namak-Khor Salt Lake is turned into a combination of clay and salt in rainy seasons and it is seen like a white sea of salt in dry seasons. Today, the southern part of the lake is the host of most tourists. Salt waterfall appears like flowing down water from a distance where salts are attached to the body of the waterfall as the result of high amount of evaporation in the desert.
