Band-e Bahman is an ancient dam located several kilometers west of the city of Kovar, over the Qareh Aghaj River. According to experts, this dam was constructed during the Achaemenid era and has stood up for 25 centuries, benefiting the farmers and agriculturalists of Kovar. The length of the dam is 126 meters, its width is four meters, and it has an average height of five meters.

In the Land of Pars, it is mentioned that "Band-e Bahman was built during the Sassanian period on the Qareh Aghaj River. Its length is 126 meters, and its thickness at the top is slightly less than four meters. Its owners repaired it correctly and fundamentally a few years ago, and now it is not only historically significant but also situated in a beautiful and remarkable natural location."

Band-e Bahman was constructed to raise the water level and divert its flow through a channel to the Kovar plain. The length of the dam is 130 meters, and its height reaches nine meters at the highest point. The materials used in its construction include natural mountain rocks and Sarooj mortar. The dam is built in a location where two mountain ranges converge, with one part of the dam resting on the rocky body of the mountain and the other part on the riverbed, which has contributed to its strength and durability over the past two thousand years. The channel that transfers water from the dam to the Kavar plain is constructed on the eastern side of the dam, within the rocky body of the mountain. Supplying the sugar factory, the water enters Kovar plain and is used by approximately 20 villages.
