The Turquoise Mine of the Binalood Heights, with an area of more than 40 square kilometers, is located in the 35th km on the north of Firouzeh and overlooking the Sofla and Olia mine villages. The only turquoise core of the Turquoise Mine is the old caves known as Abdar, Sabz, Anjiri, Ardalani, Rokni, Asbkosh, Cheraghkosh, Zak Bala, Zak Paeen, Maleki, Ghardem, Shahpardar, etc. The length of the largest of them is 1800 meters. The operation of the Old Turquoise Mine, as the oldest active mine in the world, dates back to about 5500 years ago, based on archaeologists' skeletal discoveries in the hilltop area of the landscape. The oldest written documents in which the name of Old Turquoise Mine is mentioned in them are Arayes al-Jawahir and Nafayes Altayeb, written by Abolghasem Abdollah Kashi and also, Tansugh Nameh Ilkhani authored by Khaje Nasir al-Din Tusi. The color of Turquoise of Neyshaboor is the finest turquoise color in the world. Varieties of turquoise are categorized based on color, in two groups of blue and green, and five subgroups, dark blue, light blue, whitish blue, dark green, and light green. The numerous tunnels drilled in this mine during different eras have created special natural and tourist attractions.
