The history of the library backs to Qajar period and it was later restored in Pahlavi period when some other parts were added to the main structure. The building got on fire in 1988 because of the negligence of one of the tenants in which not only was the roof collapsed, but also the wooden doors and windows, stucco decorations, mirrorwork and wooden Girih tiles were badly damaged. It was completely restored at the owner’s expense under the supervision of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization.
