Piranshahr County is one of the border counties in West Azerbaijan Province, located adjacent to Kurdistan Province. This beautiful and lush county boasts a mountainous and very picturesque landscape. One of the most beautiful natural attractions in this county is the stunning and abundant Kharpaap Waterfall. This perennial waterfall is located deep within the beautiful forests of Pardanan. Kharpaap Waterfall is situated 22 kilometers south of Piranshahr, nestled in the heart of the Pardanan forests. It is 15 meters high reaching its biggest size during the spring, due to the melting of snow in the mountains and the rainfall of the spring season.

The forests of Pardanan extend to the border heights between Iran and Iraq and are covered with forest trees, especially pine trees. The mountains, forests, valleys, and rivers of the Piranshahr region complement each other, creating beautiful and unparalleled natural scenery. One of these beautiful and unique landscapes is the roaring and abundant Kharpaap Waterfall, flowing among the lush forests of Pardanan and at the end of this valley. This tourist destination annually attracts many tourists from both distant and nearby cities, who come to this area for tourism, nature walks, and forest trekking. The wildlife, perennial and roaring rivers, and pristine and beautiful landscapes are among the attractions of this region.
