As the main passage and trade center of the city along the history and one of the oldest bazaars in the country, Historical Bazaar of Naeen passes through the historical texture of Naeen connecting different neighborhoods to each other. 

Chehel Dokhtaran Gate is the main entrance of the historical bazaar of Naeen recognized as one of the main gates of the city and the most significant historical gate of Naeen throughout the history. The historical wall of the city on two sides of this gate used to surround the whole city in the past. 

The bazaar was formed and developed through different phases in which the original building belongs to Ilkhanate and its most prosperity to Safavid period.

It is nearly 1000 meters long and 3 to 5 meters wide including 170 chambers and stores. 

The historical bazaar of Naeen had two caravanserais the larger one is placed right after the historical gate of Chehel Dokhtaran, on the right side of bazaar, of which just the entrance façade remained. 

Chehel Dokhtaran Gate used to have two towers attached to the historical wall of Naeen. There was a huge trench surrounding the historical wall of the city over which a movable bridge made access to the gate. A tower-shaped chamber on top of the gate was used for watching from which they attacked to the enemy through foxholes at the time of invasion when the main gate got closed. 

The historical gate of Chehel Dokhtaran and the entrance of the bazaar includes two large doors. It used to witness the most commercial traffic along history from different cities specially metropolitans like Isfahan, Yazd, Shiraz, Kashan, etc.

Buildings like Chehel Dokhtaran Hosseineh, Saqakhaneh, Sheikh Maghrebi Mosque, Saheb al-Zaman Mosque and Khawjeh Mosque are among the most important attractions inside bazaar. 

The historical bazaar of Naeen was mostly popular and prosperous during Safavid era and in the early Qajar. 

The building was registered in the list of Iran national heritages in 1977/8/15. (No. 1564)
